Plans for a massive new data center at Edinburgh Park have been unanimously rejected by the City of Edinburgh Council. The developer, Shelborn Drummond Ltd (an entity of Shelborn Asset Management), had hired StudioNWA Architects to design the "Edinburgh Green" campus on the site of the former Royal Bank of Scotland headquarters at 1 Redheughs Avenue.
The project, which aimed to deliver up to 213MW of IT capacity across two buildings and a new substation, was intended to repurpose the land following the 2022 demolition of Drummond House. Although planning officers initially recommended the scheme for approval, councilors blocked the development in February 2026.
