OpenAI Stargate: Lordstown Campus

Ownership: OpenAI does not own the building.

OpenAI is partnering with SoftBank to develop its Lordstown Campus. SoftBank acquired the $375 million, 6.2 million-square-foot facility from Foxconn in August 2025. Immediately upon purchase, SoftBank began converting a portion of the site into an AI data-center hall, breaking ground and projecting the facility will be operational in 2026.

This development is part of a larger initiative: a July 2025 agreement between OpenAI and Oracle to develop up to 4.5 gigawatts of additional Stargate capacity.
