The Kota Petra Green Technology Park (KPGTP) is a massive 3,000-acre development in Petra Jaya, Kuching, spearheaded by landowner Zecon Berhad in partnership with the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) and CENTEXS. While the park covers a vast area, the data center component is a specialized subset of the master plan, featuring six dedicated sites for AI-driven facilities rather than occupying the entire acreage.
These data centers are designed to meet Tier 4 international standards and will be powered by the park’s primary green energy infrastructure, which includes a 300-megawatt (MW) solar power plant and a 600-megawatt-hour (MWh) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Having been granted Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status, the project is positioned to attract RM12 billion in total investment, establishing Sarawak as a critical regional hub for high-tech industry and sustainable digital infrastructure.
