The new building cost an estimated US$88m (or HK$682 million) and was built under the government’s Policy of Lease Modification for Development of an Industrial Lot for High-tier Data Center Use.
Grand Ming Group, both the builder and parent company of iTech Tower, states the data centre is designed with Tier IV ready specification with a reliability of 99.999 percent WSP,

- Custom built data centre with dual path for electrical and telecom cabling
- Slab-to-slab >5m, floor loading of 12-20kPa
- Utility Power from CLP transmission ring to provide dual 11kV feed, dedicated transformers for data centre use
- Diesel generators with onsite fuel storage to support continuous operation
- Uninterruptible Power Supply UPS with 15 minutes battery backup to support mission critical operation
- Computer Room Air Conditioning to control the temperature and humidity
- Highly efficient chillers with redundancy to maintain the computer room environment
- Gas based fire suppression system Inergen/FM200 and / or pre-action sprinkler system
- BMS to monitor all critical facilities
