Equinix does not own the building.
HK5 is Equinix’s newest International Business Exchange™ (IBX) data center in Hong Kong. Opened in Q4 2017, this data center occupies the entirety of a brand new, 10-story purpose-built data center building, meeting the stringent security standards of many financial institutions.
HK5 is Hong Kong’s first data center to be built on land specifically zoned for data center development. It is close to submarine cable landing stations in the Tseung Kwan O area and has low latency and private connection to entrenched financial services firms. HK5 is connected to HK1, HK2 and HK3 via diverse path fiber connections, creating a city-wide campus environment that allows each new facility to leverage the benefits of existing ones. This also makes HK5 ideal as backup site or expansion location for customers with deployment in our other Hong Kong IBXs. HK5 employs green features including granular temperature monitoring, cold aisle containment and optimized lighting control to deliver a high degree of energy efficiency.
