In February 2024, Hut 8 acquired a power generation site in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, through Far North Power Corp, a partnership with Macquarie Equipment Finance. This natural gas generation facility, already operational, supports Hut 8’s cryptomining and high-performance computing operations and is part of a portfolio secured under a five-year capacity contract with the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator, starting May 1, 2026.
