Ontario Legislator Says Data Center May be Headed to Sarnia-Lambton

A new data center could be coming to Ontario, Canada. Bob Bailey, a member of Ontario’s Provincial Parliament, said on Thursday that a data center could be coming to the southern border city of Sarnia.

Bailey suggested the proposed data center would deliver at least 100MW of capacity, noting that facilities elsewhere in the province require that level of power at a minimum, according to The Petrolia Lambton Independent

Sarnia is a city in Southwestern Ontario that borders the American state of Michigan. Although the city is not a data center hotspot, the area around Ontario’s capital, Toronto, boasts one of Canada’s largest concentrations of data centers by quantity and capacity.
