HIVE: Grand Falls AI Factory

Year Planned: 2026

HIVE Digital Technologies is transitioning the Grand Falls campus from its legacy as a digital asset mining site into a Tier III HPC-enabled AI factory. This shift involves a comprehensive infrastructure overhaul, moving beyond basic power capacity to meet the rigorous uptime and connectivity standards required by enterprise and sovereign clients.

The transition is anchored by a $3.1 million investment in a dedicated fiber optic "superhighway," upgrading the site with 100 Gbps and 400 Gbps wavelength services. This allows the facility to move away from general colocation toward high-density GPU clusters—doubling HIVE's global GPU count to 11,000—optimized for AI model training and inference within a secure, Canadian-operated environment.

HIVE acquired the facility from GPU.One (a subsidiary GPU Atlantic Inc) in in Grand Falls, in 2021
