A former U.S. Air Force base in Aroostook County, Maine, is set to be revitalized with the development of a new data center. Loring LiquidCool Data Center LLC, affiliated with LiquidCool Data Center, will operate the facility, which is planned for a 115,000 sq ft parcel at the former Loring Air Force Base, now the Loring Commerce Centre. The facility is being developed in collaboration with Green 4 Maine LLC, whose mission is to bring job creation back to the area.

This initial project, housed in former warehouse building No. 7230, is intended to be the first in a campus of data centers, leveraging the property's access to 50MW of hydropower-sourced electricity from New Brunswick. This development signifies a significant step for Maine's relatively small data center market and joins AI startup Eternal Mind Inc., which opened a facility on the property in 2023.
