Epping Forest District Council has granted planning permission for Google’s new data center campus at North Weald Airfield, moving the project forward despite local objections.
Google paid a£88.2 million for 52 acres (21 hectares) of land at a former RAF airbase. Epping Forest District Council announced the sale of part of North Weald Airfield in Essex in late January 2024 to create a data centre campus.
