Phase 3 of Google's Midlothian data center campus features a 288,600-square-foot Data Center, two 14,000-square-foot Modular Electric Buildings, Generators, and a Substation. In contrast to the earlier two-story data centers, the Phase 3 structure is a more elongated, single-story building.

Google purchased 375 acres in the Railport Business Park in May 2017 and in July 2018 received Ellis County approval on a 10 year tax abatement agreement between the county and Google. The land was acquired under the entity Sharka LLC.

The building was a former Toys R Us warehouse distribution facility, but the toy company closed its doors in April 2018 after the company went bankrupt.
