In June 2024, Google submitted a planning application to build a 72,400 sqm (779,310 sq ft) data center on a 50-acre site adjacent to its existing two facilities at Grange Castle Business Park in South Dublin. In August 2024, South Dublin County Council denied this application. Subsequently, in September 2024, Google filed an appeal against the council's decision.
