Edge Cloud Link Inc. (ECL), a California-based company, is set to develop a massive hydrogen-powered data center in Texas. The project, named "TerraSite-TX1," will be located east of Houston on a 1,483-acre (600-hectare) site. ECL plans to offer this facility as a "data center-as-a-service." The initial phase of construction is expected to conclude in the summer of 2025, with an estimated investment of $450 million (€403 million).

The company has ambitious plans for TerraSite-TX1, aiming to gradually expand its capacity to reach an impressive one gigawatt. The total investment for the completed project is projected to be around $8 billion.
