Plans Emerge for $1.7bn Data Center in Lebanon County

A planned data center project in Union County, Pennsylvania, has been canceled. The developer, Data Centric LLC, had an agreement to purchase a 37-acre plot for $2.7 million at the Great Stream Commons industrial park. The deal was terminated during a 180-day due diligence period, allowing the developer to back out without losing their initial $100,000 deposit.
While the developer gave no specific reason, a Union County official suggested the common issue of utility constraints in rural Pennsylvania was likely the cause, as the site lacked the significant infrastructure needed for a data center.
