The Buck Canyon Data Center is a major hyperscale project planned for Adams County, Ohio, on the site of the former Dayton Power & Light landfill.
Developed by Buck Canyon Properties LLC and 68 Yards LLC on behalf of an undisclosed operator, the facility is expected to begin operations in 2028 and scale up in phases over the following years. The campus will feature up to 12 buildings and is projected to become one of the largest data centers in the Midwest. While the project has received key federal and state permits, it faces strong local opposition over concerns regarding massive electricity consumption, potential rate increases, environmental impact, and lack of transparency.
