Singapore-based Bitdeer Technologies Group is proposing a major $300+ million data center campus on 257 acres in Shalersville Township, Ohio.
Developed alongside local real estate firm Geis Cos., the planned 14-building site is designed to scale up over five years, creating between 150 and 200 permanent jobs at full buildout. The project reflects Bitdeer's broader push to pivot its crypto-mining infrastructure toward high-performance AI computing across the state. To ease community concerns, the firm has proposed closed-loop cooling and noise-mitigation barriers without seeking tax breaks; however, official approval remains on hold while township officials evaluate new sector regulations under a local moratorium through November.
