The Azur Datacenter Champagnier facility is a planned data center in Champagnier, in the Isère department near Grenoble in southeastern France, to be developed by retrofitting an existing industrial complex of offices and production space. The site is being acquired from French hydrogen infrastructure maker HRS through a sale-and-leaseback arrangement, under which HRS remains on-site as a long-term tenant, continuing its manufacturing operations alongside the data center build-out. The project reflects Azur Datacenter's strategy of rehabilitating existing buildings, and is paired with a prospective industrial partnership drawing on HRS's hydrogen-based power generation expertise for energy-efficient design. As of the most recent reporting, the transaction was at a preliminary stage, expected to complete by the end of 2026 subject to a building permit and environmental approvals under France's ICPE industrial-site regulations.
