Following strong pushback from the St. Joseph, Missouri community, Atmosphere Data Centers has seen its proposed campus plan halted. Local developer Steve Craig and Capstone Technology Campus officially withdrew the annexation and rezoning applications for the 300-acre Pickett Road site ahead of a scheduled July planning commission meeting.

The proposed design, which envisioned four data center facilities and an on-site substation, faced organized local opposition that cited environmental concerns, noise pollution, and limited long-term job creation. While any future development at the site would require starting the city's review process from scratch, Atmosphere Data Centers has not yet announced whether it intends to revise the proposal or explore alternative locations.
