AI data center firm Applied Digital, formerly a cryptomine company, has announced a new $3 billion data center campus called Polaris Forge 2 near Fargo, North Dakota. The 900-acre campus, located in Harwood, Cass County, will use Applied Digital's liquid-cooled design.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for September 2025, with initial capacity expected in 2026. The two-building campus is projected to reach full capacity by early 2027. The project has already secured power from Cass County Electric Cooperative.
