The $3 billion Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center project in Vicksburg, Mississippi, represents the largest private-sector investment in Warren County’s history. Slated to begin construction in early 2026, the sprawling greenfield campus will house next-generation infrastructure specifically designed to power generative AI, machine learning, and high-performance cloud computing.

To meet the facility's immense electrical demands, Entergy Mississippi is investing $1.2 billion to modernize the local power grid, which includes building a new 754-megawatt natural-gas plant on the site of the decommissioned Baxter Wilson plant.
