Amazon Data Services Inc. acquired a 91-acre property in Prince William County, Virginia, in April 2024. The company purchased the land, located at 14237 and 14209 Dumfries Road, from Parsons Business Park LLC for $218 million.

This acquisition follows a March 2024 decision by the Prince William Board of County Supervisors to approve a rezoning proffer amendment. This amendment paves the way for the entire site to be developed for data center use. Notably, the property falls within the county's designated Data Center Opportunity Zone Overlay District.
The site, situated west of Dale City near Independent Hill, has a recent history of zoning changes. In 2019, it was rezoned to Planned Business District (PBD), with the initial intent of developing it into an industrial/business park accommodating various related uses.
