AWS is building its first Malaysian data center facility at Persiaran APEC, Cyberjaya, in Selangor. The first project will be built out in multiple phases and will be overseen by the Sepang Municipal council.
Construction firm, Sunway Construction, secured an RM747.8 million ($170.8m) deal in March 2024 to build this data center for Amazon in Selangor. The work is scheduled for completion in Q2 2027. The project will see the construction of the data centre itself, as well as offices, other relevant buildings, and several essential facilities.
