SB Energy: Stargate Milam Campus
SB Energy's data center campus in Milam County, Texas, beside its Orion solar plants. An OpenAI affiliate leases both buildings. Construction began in 2025, with service expected from 2027 through 2028.
Campus at a Glance
SB Energy, a SoftBank Group company, is developing the campus on a 606-acre site near Burlington, Texas, beside its Orion Solar Belt. OpenAI named Milam County one of its Stargate sites in September 2025. An OpenAI affiliate leases both buildings under 15-year triple-net leases signed in January 2026.
SB Energy owns the land, the buildings and the power infrastructure, and runs the facility. OpenAI designed the buildings and supplies its own computing equipment.
Power
SB Energy's Orion I, II and III solar plants supply the campus behind the meter through a private use network. Oncor provides transmission and distribution in ERCOT, plus auxiliary service to the campus.
