Savion, developer of the Plano Skies Energy Center solar project in Kendall County, Illinois, proposed adding a data center campus off Rock Creek Road, north of Plano.

  • Concept: six to seven data center buildings, each with its own backup generation, plus a switch substation and a DC substation.
  • Status: City officials objected to the lack of detail. In February 2026 the city confirmed that the Plano Skies application includes no data center.
