Digital Realty: Digital Franklin Park Campus
Digital Franklin Park is Digital Realty's master-planned data center campus on West Grand Avenue in Franklin Park, Illinois, near O'Hare Airport. Digital Realty acquired the campus in 2012 and expanded it through 2022, with more land banked for growth.
Campus at a Glance
Digital Franklin Park is Digital Realty's flagship Chicago-area campus in the Village of Franklin Park, about 10 minutes from O'Hare Airport and 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. Digital Realty bought the original campus in 2012.
- Buildings: ORD12 (9333 W Grand Ave), ORD13 (9355 W Grand Ave) and ORD14 (9377 W Grand Ave) sit on the original 40-acre campus. ORD15 occupies the former Motorola site at 9401 W Grand Ave.
- Power: ComEd opened a 4-acre substation on the campus in November 2022.
- Connectivity: The buildings connect to Digital Realty's downtown Chicago hubs at 350 E Cermak Rd and 600 S Federal St.
- Expansion: Digital Realty bought two adjacent land parcels in July 2025.

Digital Realty Trust is a data center public REIT that owns and operates facilities in the United States and Europe. The company provides colocation and interconnection services and develops large multi‑tenant data centers for enterprise and cloud customers.
Its European platform expanded through the combination with Interxion, and through the purchase of European sites divested by Equinix following Equinix’s acquisition of TelecityGroup. The Telx acquisition added a U.S. interconnection and colocation business to Digital Realty’s portfolio.
Digital Realty Trust History:
- In March 2020 completed the combination with Interxion, expanding its European platform.

- In July 2016 acquired eight European data centers from Equinix that were divested as part of Equinix’s TelecityGroup acquisition.
