Data Center Campus
Digital Realty's Clonshaugh campus in Clonshaugh Business & Technology Park, north Dublin, pairs the former Hibernia Atlantic International Exchange Centre (DUB11) with a two-storey data centre (DUB12). First built in the early 2000s, with expansions through 2020.
Digital Realty's Clonshaugh campus sits in Clonshaugh Business & Technology Park (the former IDA Clonshaugh Industrial Estate) off Oscar Traynor Road, Coolock, about 15-20 minutes by road from Dublin Airport.
The estate is held on a ground lease that runs to 2981. Digital Realty bought it from Hibernia Atlantic in 2006. The deal covered a 20,000 sq ft data centre in the International Exchange Centre and an adjoining development parcel. Digital Realty built DUB12 on the parcel in 2007 and leased it to eircom. After a €70 million upgrade, DUB12 reopened as multi-tenant colocation in 2020.
ESB Networks supplies the campus. DUB12 takes two 110 kV supplies, each feeding its own 20 MVA transformer, with on-site 10.5 kV/380 V step-down. Its generators sit in rooftop plant enclosures, and Dublin City Council permitted four more in 2021. Cooling is chilled water with N+1 air-cooled chillers.
The International Exchange Centre is a long-standing fibre hub. Hibernia Atlantic, later GTT and now EXA Infrastructure, runs a Dublin PoP there, and Amazon used space in it as DUB4/DUB7. AWS Direct Connect is available on site.
DUB12 holds ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 and 50001, PCI DSS, SOC 2 and SOC 3. Digital Realty reports 100% renewable energy.
