ZTE launched the ZXEDC M8000 Intelligent Computing Micro-Module at Data Center World Asia in Singapore, an integrated IT pod built for AI data centers. The company announced the product in a release published Oct. 20 (ZTE). The module combines an enclosed cold aisle, liquid-cooled racks, network racks, a coldplate cooling distribution unit, secondary-side piping, high-voltage DC power, intelligent busbars, thin-sheet air walls,
monitoring, lighting, cabling and fire linkage in one package. ZTE says it supports general-purpose and AI hybrid deployments.
ZTE says rack power ranges from 20kW to 60kW, with a peak of 250kW per rack. The racks are decoupled from the frame, so operators can fit full racks or special form factors, according to Developing Telecoms. Sites can move from air cooling to liquid cooling later, and standardized components shorten on-site assembly.
The module runs one shared air-and-liquid cooling source. A CDU pairs with thin-sheet air walls that carry dual cooling sources, letting operators adjust the air-to-liquid ratio. ZTE says the design maximizes free cooling and holds PUE as low as 1.15. Power runs at 800V HVDC through intelligent busbars, which ZTE says reaches up to 98% power supply efficiency. ZTE says AI-based optimization and the iDCIM management platform cut cooling energy consumption by more than 10%.
ZTE says the M8000 is the first data center solution to hold UL system-level leak-proof certification. Protection covers the CDU, liquid-cooled racks, servers and switches, and adds leak detection with automatic liquid replenishment (Tech in Asia). ZTE also says one architecture supports three generations of IT hardware upgrades, which the company presents as a way to avoid large-scale retrofits as computing capacity grows.
ZTE cites a 2025 award of 666 IT modules for a computing center project in the Yangtze River Delta for a Chinese internet company as the design's reference case. The company says 345 M8000 IT pods have been delivered. ZTE says the single-row rack and thin-sheet air wall layout uses factory prefabrication and skid-mounted transport, and that delivery took one month from purchase order to site arrival.
Baxtel counts 110 data center facilities in Singapore with 1,299 MW of tracked power capacity, and six of those facilities are under construction (Singapore).
