Yondr Group has revealed its plans to develop a hyperscale data center campus in Slough, just outside London. The initial phase of the development of the data center campus will see Yondr develop a 30MW facility. This phase is scheduled to be in operation by the first quarter of 2023. In addition, it will also have 100MW of capacity upon full development.
The Slough data center campus is to be developed on the former Uxbridge Road Gas Works. Yondr Group was granted permission for two data center buildings on the site in September. The company has been very active as it recently announced a $2 billion investment for expansion into the Americas. It also formed a $1 billion joint partnership with Everstone Group to develop data centers in India.
Managing Director of Operations at Yondr Group, Paul Hood, noted that the facility in Slough would help strengthen the company’s global presence. He also added that the facility would help Yondr serve clients in the most coveted metro in the UK.
