According to multiple reports, Real estate firm AEW is close to selling a 1 million square feet (92,000 square meters) office park to an unidentified data center firm. AEW will be selling the Bath Road Central office campus for a fee of around £420 million ($579.5m). The real estate firm first bought the campus in 2015 for £325 million ($448.4m) from Segro. The purchase was backed by Japanese investor Norinchukin Bank and Australian pension fund Australian Super. Upon completion of the sale of the property, it would be one of the largest office deals in the UK since the Coronavirus pandemic started.
In other news, Yondr’s plans for a data center in Slough have been approved by the Slough Borough Council planning committee. The committee unanimously voted to approve the data center firm’s request to build two data center buildings in Wexham Road. Yondr wants to build two three-story buildings with a gross internal floor area of 444,680 square feet (41,312 sqm). Each of the buildings will also have rooftop solar panels and 26 generators.
