Verdantas Proposes New Data Center in Newark, Delaware

A new data center has been proposed in New Castle County, Newark, Delaware. The proposed data center would sit just off of Ogletown Road, on a 44-acre site currently occupied by the White Clay Center Industrial Park.

The application describes consolidating the seven buildings of the campus into two and construction of light industrial buildings, a guard house, switchyard, and associated improvements. It also describes the proposed site as a data center.

Delaware has a small data center footprint, but has become a more enticing target for developers as the industry booms. Earlier this year, Susan Colby, spokesperson for Delaware’s economic development arm, the Delaware Prosperity Partnership, said data centers are “one of the hottest project trends across the US right now.”
