The US Air Force’s 51st Communications Squadron has started work on its new HQ at the 51st Fighter Wing Osan Air Base in South Korea. The new headquarters will feature a data center with updated network operations. In addition, the data center will also serve as the alternate action team, focal point for communications, and the squadron’s emergency operations center location.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, officials of the squadron noted that the new headquarter would provide a more consolidated, smaller, faster, and smarter data center infrastructure. However, the Air Force did not reveal any other specifications of the data center.
