Starcloud Raises $250m Series A Extension For Orbital AI Data Centers
Orbital data center company Starcloud has raised $250 million in a Series A extension at a $2.3 billion valuation, following its $170 million Series A in March, bringing its total raised since 2024 to $450 million, with plans to invest the funding into operating 88,000 orbital computing satellites with 20GW of capacity.
Fossefall Partners With Armada For AI Data Center Deployments
Fossefall has partnered with Armada to deploy modular AI data centers across the Nordic region, initially deploy five of Armada’s Leviathan modular data centers with a combined 9MW of capacity in a partnership which covers Norway, Sweden, and Finland, with the initial contract valued at several hundred million NOK.
Nexspace Begins Construction On New Data Center In Graz, Austria
German data center firm Nexspace has started construction on a new facility in Graz, Austria in a project which will more than double Nexspace’s capacity in Graz, adding around 600 sqm (6,460 sq ft) of IT space and 2.2MW of capacity, with a goal to create infrastructure for a digital world in which data, AI and powerful IT are increasingly determining how companies can work, research and grow.
Schwarz Group Plans €5.6bn Data Center In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany
Schwarz Group and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have revealed plans to develop a 240MW data center in Dummersdorf, Germany, backed by a €5.6 billion investment. The facility is expected to expand to a gigawatt scale by 2045 and benefit from renewable wind power, a potential 380kV grid connection, and free cooling.
Digital Realty Begins Construction On Fourth Data Center In Zurich, Switzerland
Digital Realty has started construction on a new data center in Glattbrugg, Zurich, Switzerland. The ZUR4 facility will provide 15MW of IT capacity across around 6,300 square meters, expanding its existing Zurich campus and creating a future-proof ecosystem that connects more than 200 customers on-site and more than 6,000 customers worldwide.
