Spanish ISP Sarenet Opens Data Center in Bizkaia

Spanish internet provider Sarenet has opened a new data center near Bilbao, located at the Derio Communications Hub in Bizkaia. The facility will support the company’s expansion in cloud services, cybersecurity, and business continuity, while reinforcing the Basque Country’s role as a digital economy hub.

The €20 million ($22.6 million) facility spans 1,000 sqm (10,765 sq ft) and provides 3MW of capacity. It can accommodate up to 340 racks and will feature an on-site solar installation.

The Basque company operates three data centers in Madrid, two in Barcelona (including one at the BitNAP facility recently sold by Cellnex to Templus), one in Valencia, and two more in Bilbao within the same business park.
