Rostelecom to expand one of its data centers in Moscow

Rostelecom has announced that it is expanding one of its facilities in Moscow. Its M9 data center on Moscow's Butlerova Street will span 466 sq m (5,000 sq ft), with a capacity of 840kW and offer standard racks of 5.5 kW.

The facility is built to Tier III standard and will reportedly accommodate 151 customer racks.

Commenting on the expansion Denis Afanasiev, General Director of JSC MMTS-9, Deputy General Director of Rostelecom-DPC said it will help the company to develop cooperation with telecom operators, corporate clients, and the public sector." 

He added: "The project is designed to meet the growing demand of these segments and strengthen our position in this market."

Rostelecom has 18 sites.

The data center has its own 24/7 security service. Entrances to the territory and premises of NORD‑4 are equipped with access control system (ACS), which protects from unauthorized access.

NORD‑4 has 100 cu.m fuel underground storage with a tank for emergency fuel discharge. From this storage fuel is automatically added to fuel tank of diesel generators.
