European operator Portus Data Centers this week announced the expansion of its facility in the Grand Duchy with a further 1,350 sqm of white space and additional capacity that will take the site to 3.4MW. The company is also rebranding the unit, previously known as European Data Hub (EDH), to Portus Data Centers Luxembourg.

“As a part of the Portus Data Centers Group, we gain access to valuable resources, expertise, and support that enables us to invest in innovation and development, further strengthening our position in the industry, and enhance the services we offer to the market,” said David Celis, CEO, Portus Data Centers Luxembourg. “At the same time, the significant expansion of space and power announced today will ensure more growth opportunities for our growing portfolio of customers.”

Adriaan Oosthoek, chairman of Portus Data Centers, added: “This is yet another step in the execution of the buy and build growth strategy that Portus Data Centers has defined. We are seeing strong demand in the Luxembourg market which is in line with other key growing regional data center markets in Europe - driven by the increase in organizations looking to outsource their IT and networking infrastructure to high-quality colocation facilities.”
