Peru: Optical Networks confirms data center plans and rebrands

Optical Networks has announced that it is rebranding as Win Empresas. This pursuit of a commercial restructuring, is aimed at bolstering its presence in the corporate telecoms market through enhancing association with Win, its telecoms arm. Further to this, it restated its intentions to open two data centers this year and next year, as well as expand its La Victoria facility, with the deployment of 140 additional cabinets this year. When complete, the company will have the largest data center footprint in Peru.
Speaking about this move to rebrand, Optical/Win Empresas said in a statement: “Through this launch, the Peruvian-owned telco projects that it will achieve the same growth as Win, which went from 30,000 clients in the B2C sector to more than 300,000 in just three years.” The company is reportedly aiming to triple its market share to 45% from 15% across the next five years.
The company also shared its plans to expand its fiber optical network.
