Cirion has outlined its plans to develop three data centers in Chile, Peru and Brazil in 2023, as it continues its growth in Latin America. Specifically, the three facilities will be located in Santiago's Quilicura district, Macropolis in Lurín in Peru, and Cotia in São Paulo. Together the three sites will offer more than 6MW of capacity.
Speaking about this expansion, Facundo Castro, CEO of Cirion Technologies, said: "We believe in the development of the economies of the region, supporting digital business models."
"As Latin America's leading digital infrastructure and technology provider, we are dedicated to providing our customers with the highest quality services and technologies and these expansions reflect Cirion's continued commitment to providing our customers with the most comprehensive suite of solutions to support their digital transformation across the region," Castro added.
Research shows that Latin America is currently one of the fastest-growing regions with regards to technological development, with significant investment in the data center construction market, specifically in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Bolivia, and Argentina. The former, for example, took the lead regarding data center construction last year, with over 45% of the market share of investments. Meanwhile, in Chile, analysis shows that the data center market is expected to reach a market size of $876 Million in 2028.
