Datacenter Münster Osnabrück (DMO) has brought its data center outside Münster, Germany, online. Located at Münster Osnabrück Airport, the first phase of the facility offering 1MW of capacity has been operational since April 15.
The facility has been in development since 2022, with construction beginning in January 2025. Around €10 million ($11.7 million) has been invested in the project, with part of the data center’s power needs supported by a 650kWp photovoltaic system.
An additional construction phase, with capacity yet to be disclosed, is expected to come online in around two years. Founded in October 2024, DMO GmbH is a subsidiary of German IT services firm Items GmbH and TKRZ Stadtwerke GmbH. TKRZ, owned by local utility Stadtwerke Emsdetten, provides IT services and ISP connectivity across Emsdetten, Mesum, and Hauenhorst.
