Earlier in the week, Neom announced more details surrounding the development of data centers it planned in the new city of Neom, Saudi Arabia. The firm said it would be developing the data centers in partnership with Ezdihar Advanced Company for Information Technology (EzdiTek). In addition, a new company ZeroPoint DC will operate the data centers. CEO of ZeroPoint DC, Fabio Fontana, said the first next-generation hyperscale data centers in the region would be pivotal in powering M3LD, Neom Tech & Digital Company’s innovative, five-layer data consent management platform. It will also be instrumental in powering the company’s own ‘metaverse’ called XVRS.
According to Neom, ZeroPoint DC will offer colocation services with an option for customers to develop and operate their data centers later. In addition, data center operation, facility management, remote hands services, and fit-out will be offered to customers. The company plans to develop three facilities with an initial capacity of 36MW. The data centers will also have room for significant expansion. ZeroPoint DC has plans to be in operation in Q2 of this year.
