Saudi Arabia: Neom reveals plans for Oxagon floating industrial district that will house a data center

Saudi Arabia’s new Neom city has revealed plans to have a hyperscale data center on a floating industrial district. Neom is a development project with the aim to develop a large smart city on the Red Sea coast in the Saudi province of Tabuk. Crown Prince and Chairman of the Neom Company Board of Directors, Mohammed bin Salman, announced Oxagon, which is a new floating industrial district in Neom. The district will be in a hexagon shape.
Oxagon will be located southwest of Neom. It will also host a logistics hub and an integrated port. In addition, the district will house a modular building construction factory and a hydrogen project. There will also be a data center in the district which will be developed in partnership with Fas Energy. Prince Salman said Oxagon would be the catalyst Neom needs for economic growth and diversity. He added that Neom would help improve Saudi’s regional trade and commerce. According to reports, Oxagon is already in development as designs are in progress.
