Microsoft Azure: Microsoft Launches Fifth Chinese Azure Region

Microsoft has announced its fifth Azure region in China. According to the company, the new Chinese Azure region launched on the first day of the month. This region will be operated by Vnet (formerly 21Vianet). The CEO of Microsoft’s Greater China Region, Dr. Hou Yang, said the company had seen an exponential increase in the demand for global public cloud services in the Chinese data center market. 

He added that the region would also help improve the company’s capabilities to enable and empower growth, innovation, and discover valuable opportunities across the business and ecosystem. In addition, Microsoft also revealed that it would be launching more availability zones in China this year.
