Microsoft Azure: Microsoft intends to open four data centers in China by in 2022

According to reports from Bloomberg, Microsoft is looking to add four new data centers in China by Q1 of 2022. The report states that Microsoft wants to expand its service across Asia and opening data centers in China is a step towards achieving that. Asides from that, the Company also intends to take advantage of the recent increase in demand for Internet services in the country.

Microsoft already has five data center regions in mainland China currently being operated by its local partner, 21Vianet. Bloomberg did not provide more details on where these new data centers will be located. However, any data center expansion Microsoft makes in China would be through 21Vianet.
