Plans are in place for Microsoft to build another data facility in San Antonio. According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the data facility will be 79,385 square feet in size. It will be constructed at the 15000 block of Lambda Drive at Texas Research Park to the West of the first two facilities on the campus.
The facility's construction is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2021, and is expected to be completed by February 28, 2022. The project's cost is estimated at $140 million, and the firm designing the facility is shown as Philips Architecture of Raleigh, North Carolina.
From this development, it looks like Microsoft wants to continue expanding its presence in San Antonio as the tech giant looks to add to their data facilities already operating in the city.
