Microsoft Azure: Microsoft to expand its footprint in San Antonio

Microsoft has announced its plans to invest $175.9 million in a massive new data center in San Antonio. Named “SAT40,” the facility was recently filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

According to the filing, the facility will be based at Lambda Drive in the Texas Research Park, on the far West Side outside of Loop 1604 near Castroville, and will span 153,227-square-foot.

Reports are that the giant plans to begin work on the 153,227-square-foot on June 15 with a view to completion by September 15.
