Meta has announced that it is expanding its data center campus in New Albany, Ohio. The company announced the decision in a Facebook post earlier in the week. The company revealed to BizJournal that it would be adding two buildings totaling 92,900 square meters (1 million square feet) to the site. According to Meta, the expansion will see the total investment at the facility to $1.5 billion.
The company broke ground on the facility in 2017. The campus was also launched in 2020. Jon Husted, Ohio’s Lieutenant Governor, said the investment shows that Ohio has become a destination for digital infrastructure in America. He added that the state continues to value Meta’s investment in the state. Meta was very busy with expansions last year. It will also begin a development spree this year after it announced plans to expand its Gallatin facility in Tennessee. It also plans to develop new facilities in Kansas City, Texas, and Idaho.
