Brazil / Brasil: ManageEngine plans data center in Brazil

ManageEngine is reportedly considering establishing a data center in Brazil. It plans to have the facility operational by either late this year or early next, near its Santa Catarina or São Paulo offices.
According to the company, regulatory barriers and import tax mean that a lack of local data structure hikes up the cost of providing local services. With similar legislation being considered in Mexico and Costa Rica, the company might replicate this approach in those respective countries, too.
Expanding on this, Regional Manager Subin George told BNamericas, said: “We want to bring our own datacenter to Brazil because of cost-effectiveness. Because using a datacenter from elsewhere is too expensive. It is expensive hiring Azure, AWS and run the infrastructure.”
Adding: "So instead they bring their own infrastructure or they partner locally with companies providing the technologies. We want to invest in those companies in order to build our own datacenters."
The company shared with BNamericas that it might partner with a local company.
