ManageEngine has announced that it has opened two new Canadian data centers in Toronto and Montreal in order to offer Canadian customers, what it called, the benefits of localized data centers. This move is also reportedly in response to tightening privacy regulations across the world, with the company outlining that the facilities will provide greater data sovereignty, data residency and enhanced security, as well as greater ease-of-use and functionality for customers.
Speaking about the expansion, Rajesh Ganesan, president of ManageEngine, committed: "We recognize that Canada is a growing technology market, one that is very important for ManageEngine and has already demonstrated remarkable growth year over year. The investments in local data centers are a testament to our commitment to this region and will help our customers comply with local regulations in terms of data sovereignty, privacy and security. The new data centers and their operations carry all the required certifications, which assures our customers that their data is securely stored only within Canadian boundaries."
Meanwhile, Mark Moosaie, manager of IT service delivery at Kohl and Frisch, a long-term customer, said: "I'm thrilled ManageEngine has made the investment to set up a data center here in Canada! As cybersecurity is evolving day-to-day, it's comforting knowing that our corporate data will be stored following the similar Canadian regulations that I'm accustomed to. I know for sure the insurance industry and regulators that oversee our line of business will be thrilled to hear this news."
