Malaysian Property Giant Sells 36-Acre Cyberjaya Site for Data Center Development

A subsidiary of Malaysian property giant Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) is selling a 36-acre land parcel in Cyberjaya for potential data center development. MRCB said it signed a conditional sale and purchase agreement with Digital Cosmos on August 7 to sell seven land parcels for RM419 million ($102 million).

Digital Cosmos was incorporated in Malaysia three months ago and is a subsidiary of Singapore-based Digital Cosmos (S) Pte Ltd, which was established in June. MRCB said the company is primarily involved in developing and operating data centers, although it is unclear whether it has previously completed any data center projects.

The agreement states that Digital Cosmos will be responsible for securing approval for 182MW of power and at least 9.41 million liters of water per day for the proposed data center. Cyberjaya is a planned technology hub located on the outskirts of Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur.MRCB_Logo.width-358.webp
