Kasi Cloud breaks ground on new Lagos hyperscale data center

Kasi Cloud has announced that it has broken ground on a new hyperscale data center in Lagos, Nigeria. A ceremony to celebrate this milestone was recently held in Lekki, Lagos, attended by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Uche Orji, one the company's key investors. So far, the campus has seen an injection of ​​$250 million, and when complete, the company said it would be "one of the biggest of its kind in Africa". 


Speaking about the company's most recent development, Kasi co-founder and CEO Johnson Agogbua said: "Kasi's mission of building a digital platform to accelerate cloud and interconnect people, enterprises and governmental institutions in Nigeria and across Africa started here in Lagos, Nigeria."

Orji commented: "We congratulate Kasi on this momentous milestone. NSIA believes in the potential of digital infrastructure to serve as an enabler and accelerator for innovation. WE expect that the transformative impact of this infrastructure on the domestic tech space will reposition Nigeria. The Board and Management of the Authority is proud to be associated with this development."

There are 18 data centers in Nigeria.
