ADC Lagos LOS1: Africa Data Centres launches data center in Lagos

Africa Data Centres has announced the opening of a new data center in Lagos, Nigeria. The data center, namely LOS1 will have a capacity of 10MW, with six data halls, and spanning 6,000 sqm (64,500 sq ft). According to the company, the facility will serve as the West African Hub for the company, and the first of four planned in the country.
Speaking about the reasoning behind the expansion of the company's footpring, Stephane Duproz, CEO of Africa Data Centres, said: “We built this facility in response to the massive demand from hyperscalers, key cloud operators and multi-national enterprises that already use our facilities and have expressed interest in being a part of bringing digitization at scale to West Africa."
He added: “Africa Data Centre is witnessing an unprecedented demand for fintech services, apps, broadband, cloud technologies, and more, all of which are seeing data demand skyrocket.”
Further to this, he said that the creation of a digital hub is “the beginning of digital transformation capabilities for the region.” Adding: “Multinational enterprises will wish to be housed under the same roof as our hyperscale customers due to the lower latency enjoyed.”
